In the 1970s and early 80s I worked lots of extra hours driving out of the Teamos line drivers local in the SF bay area. I would geta call from after working all week and Friday after 6:00 one of the trucking company dispatchers would call asking If I could do an east bay turn to Los Angeles area or San Diego and I loved driving a semi so yes I would do it and the money was good. The issue was most of the freight trucks had 8V-71engines . Detroit 2 stoke engines sucked no torque, noisy, I just hated them.
